Defeating the Holiday Blues

By Charles Wm. Skillas, PhD, DD, BCH, CI

For most people the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are times of love and joy, but for many, these holidays are times of great depression and anxiety. What should be a time of enjoyment can be a yearly devastating emotional experience instead. Many suicides are recorded during this holiday period. Why is this so and what can be done to help these unfortunates?

Most of the feelings we experience at these times stem from childhood events in this life or from past lives. Lucky people had loving families and good times, but unlucky people had bad experiences during the holidays. The lucky ones will remember the feelings of joy and love, but the unlucky ones will remember the feelings of sadness, anger, loneliness or envy. Because of the emphasis given to these holidays by our society, the triggers are all around reminding of the past. Amongst the triggers are shopping, music, TV shows, movies, etc. These triggers reignite the old feelings, both good and bad and cause a re-experience of the past feelings.

The old feelings are energy generators in our subconscious minds that are tied to, and support the programs they initially installed on our subconscious hard drive. They can be either joyful or depressive. These programs determine our behavior, how we feel and how we respond to life. We want to keep the joyful ones, but get rid of the depressive ones. To effectively clear ourselves so we can feel and behave better, we must rid ourselves of the energy generators supporting the depressive programs in our subconscious hard drive. This can be done with hypnotherapy.

With hypnotherapy, the subconscious depressive energy-generators can be found and their energies released (cleared), and new positive programs can be installed on the hard drive so we feel good instead of awful. If foreign energies are attached to you, they may carry the holiday sad energy problem and bring that sadness to you. If you have your own problem, the attached energy exacerbates it, making it worse. If the sadness is not from your past, you can still feel the depressive influence from foreign energy attached to you. These foreign energies can be from either the attachment of earthbound spirits of deceased people, or soul-mind fragments of disassociated people living or dead who were depressed.

The solution to the holiday blues problem is to release the foundation of the problem, whether it is from your own past, or from someone else's past whose energy is attached to you. Whatever the source, once you get rid of it and reprogram for joy instead of depression, permanent change takes place and you feel much better about yourself and about life.
